Air Industries Group has received $2.3 million in subcontract awards from Helicopter Tech to develop landing gear component made from forged aluminum for the KC-135 aircraft.
Nassau Tool Works, Air Industries’ subsidiary, will produce the part over a period of two years with the start of deliveries slated for early 2018, Air Industries said Monday.
Dan Godin, Air Industries Group president and CEO, said this contract is in line with the company’s plans to expand into larger aircraft platforms.
He added that the company has two major sites that will work on producing the landing gear and flight safety parts.
