Bechtel has secured a five-year contract extension from an autonomous Saudi Arabian government agency to continue to provide management services for two industrial development projects in Jubail and Ras Al Khair.
The company said Monday its contract with the Royal Commission for Jubail and Yanbu covers projects to construct residential and educational buildings as well as roads, bridges, hospitals and water, power and waste management facilities.
“Bechtel is a key part of our team and they have played a major role in helping us to plan and implement the growth of Jubail and Ras Al Khair,†noted Mosleh Al-Otaibi, chief executive of the Royal Commission in Jubail.
The company has supported the Jubail development effort since the mid-1970s.
Bechtel also helped manage several infrastructure projects in Saudi Arabia, including the construction of a Ras Al Khairal-based aluminum smelter, the King Fahd and King Khalid international airports.
The Virginia-based contractor also currently supports a rapid transit system project in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia.
