Richardson Electronics and Global Power Technologies Group have signed a franchise agreement in an effort to utilize silicon carbide semiconductor technology to address the market demand for power electronics and green energy.
The agreement aligns with GPTG’s goal to identify SiC technology opportunities in the commercial power market, Richardson Electronics said Thursday.
The company noted that a technical sales team will work to promote SiC products as it pursues the identified business opportunities.
Richardson Electronics is a provider of radio frequency, microwave and power products, while GPTG is a manufacturer of SiC semiconductors.
