An integrated open source and cloud computing technology presents a potential investment area for government agencies that seek agile and adaptable federal IT solutions, Carahsoft Technology said Monday.
The company noted that cloud adoption works to help agencies generate savings and meet requirements in government mandates such as FITARA and FedRAMP.
Software-as-a-service and hybrid clouds also work to address needs in flexibility and security, while open source enables agencies to adapt to changing requirements and technologies, the company added.
Carahsoft said research indicates that cloud adoption could save the government as much as $20 billion.
