Inmarsat and Securiport have partnered to introduce a service offering for government organizations to manage border security and disease control issues with the help of satellite communications technology.
The alliance seeks to offer Securiport’s ground sensor-equipped Integrated Immigration Control System and Intelligent Information Management System in conjunction with Inmarsat-4 and GlobalXpress mobile satellite connectivity services to the public sector, Inmarsat said Thursday.
“The international government sector is becoming increasingly reliant on new interoperable technologies to aid in their border protection operations,” said Andy Start, president of Inmarsat’s global government business.
The integrated offering would allow government clients to access data analytics and risk management tools, as well as link their land border monitoring operations to a national IICS/IIMS in real time.
Customers leverage Inmarsat-4 to facilitate mission-critical wireless communications and use Global Xpress to access high-speed broadband service during ground, maritime and air-based missions.
