Two Commerce Department agencies have teamed up with the Minority Business Development Agency and the Federal Laboratory Consortium for Technology Transfer to launch a consortium to help minority-owned enterprises develop and commercialize their technology platforms and services.
The National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration and the National Institute of Standards and Technology will collaborate with MBDA and FLC to set up the Minority Business Enterprise Technology Transfer Innovation Consortium, NIST said Wednesday.
The consortium is one of the Obama administration’s programs launched at the White House Demo Day Tuesday in an effort to promote entrepreneurship.
The initiative will focus on the creation of regional ecosystems that will work to give minority entrepreneurs access to consulting services, technology transfer training and research efforts at federal laboratories.
