Draper will expand its operations at Hill Air Force Base in Utah with a new research and engineering facility slated for completion in fall 2026.
The company said Tuesday the new building, which will have a floorspace of over 30,000 square feet, will bring Draper’s advanced capabilities closer to its aerospace and defense customers in the region.
Julia MacDonough, vice president and general manager for Air Force and missile defense strategic systems at Draper, said, “Growing our presence in Utah underscores Draper’s commitment to the operational readiness and modernization requirements of our nation’s strategic deterrence programs.”
U.S. Air Force leaders and Draper officials gathered at Hill AFB for a groundbreaking ceremony.
Vision for the Facility
The new building will support Draper’s core engineering efforts, including model-based systems engineering and simulation, advanced guidance and navigation component development and high-assurance microelectronic system design.
The facility reflects broader efforts to utilize Department of Defense properties for national defense innovation.
This expansion follows Draper’s recent announcement of a new corporate campus at the University of Massachusetts Lowell, aimed at advancing secure microelectronics for defense, critical infrastructure and space exploration.
