Robert Waldo has joined defense and space manufacturing company Intellisense Systems as president and CEO, succeeding Frank Willis, who served in the position for six years.
Before working as CEO, Willis was vice president at Physical Optics Corporation before the spin-off of Intellisense. Willis will now transition to serve as executive director and special consultant of Intellisense, the Torrance, California-based company announced Monday.
The chairperson of the Intellisense board of directors, Joanna Jannson, expressed gratitude for Willis’s guidance.
“Frank and the entire executive team stepped up to the challenges of managing a spin-off business reliant on R&D contracts while operating through a worldwide pandemic and were still able to grow the business by more than 300%,” Jannson said.
Previously, Waldo was president and CEO at Broadata Communications Inc. During his two-and-a-half-year tenure, Waldo aimed to deliver various products to customers, resulting in growth.
Waldo holds a doctorate degree in aerospace engineering.
In addition to serving as Intellisense Systems chief executive, Waldo will serve as a member of the company’s board.
