Roy Azevedo, president of Raytheon Technologies‘ intelligence and space business, and four other executives and officials were tapped to join the board of directors of Space Foundation.
The 2022 Wash100 Award recipient as well as John Hyten, former vice chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff; Jeff Ashby, former NASA astronaut; Pascale Ehrenfreund, president of International Space University; and Kam Ghaffarian, executive chairman of Axiom Space, will help the nonprofit organization advocate for the global space ecosystem, Space Foundation said Wednesday.
It also re-elected Lauren Smith, program manager for satellite servicing at Northrop Grumman, as a new-generation representative on the board.
In addition to the election, the nonprofit welcomed Thomas Wilson, corporate vice president and president of space systems business at Northrop, and Ed Zoiss, president of space and airborne systems at L3Harris Technologies, as new company representatives.
Space Foundation will introduce the new members to the board during a November meeting in Washington, D.C.
