Craig Owens, small business innovation research program manager at Lockheed Martin‘s aeronautics business, has been named 2018’s SBIR Person of the Year.
The award recognizes individuals who have significantly contributed to the growth of the country’s SBIR program, Zyn Systems said Monday.
Owens, a frequent requested speaker at major SBIR events, works to educate small businesses on how to collaborate with prime contractors on projects concerning major defense systems.
He also trains and guides personnel of various small businesses from underrepresented communities.
The program manager is also a recipient of the Small Business Technology Council’s 2018 Champion of Small Business Technology Commercialization Award.
