Optum to Manage Part of VA Community Care Provider Network - top government contractors - best government contracting eventOptum‘s public sector business has received contracts to manage three regions of the Department of Veterans Affairs‘ network of care service providers.

The company will work to manage parts of the Community Care Network, VA’s new contract vehicle for procurement of community health care services that comply with industry standards, the department said Monday.

“As part of VA’s modernization efforts, we designed the new network based on feedback from veterans and other stakeholders, along with lessons learned from the Veterans Choice Program, said Robert Wilkie, secretary of veterans affairs.

Arizona-based TriWest Healthcare will continue to support the management of VA’s veteran care throughout the country until the new network is fully applied.

The three current regions cover Connecticut, Delaware, Maine, Maryland, Massachusetts, New Hampshire, New Jersey, New York, North Carolina, Pennsylvania, Rhode Island, Vermont, Virginia, Washington, D.C., West Virginia, Illinois, Indiana, Iowa, Kansas, Kentucky, Michigan, Minnesota, Missouri, Nebraska, North Dakota, Ohio, South Dakota, Wisconsin, Alabama, Arkansas, Florida, Georgia, Louisiana, Mississippi, Oklahoma, Puerto Rico, South Carolina, Tennessee and the Virgin Islands.

VA plans to award the contract for CCN’s fourth region by April and for the fifth and sixth regions before 2019 concludes.
