The New York Metropolitan Transportation Authority has partnered with DXC Technology on a multiyear effort to field a new enterprise asset management system designed to plan, monitor and facilitate public transit maintenance operations.
The Tysons, Va.-based technology services contractor said Thursday it will help the MTA simplify maintenance procedures for its assets and infrastructure that support routes spanning 236 miles through the EAM platform.
The EAM system will work to provide MTA employees real-time data access to streamline the operation of buses and trains.
Carlos Lopez-Abadia, vice president and general manager at DXC Consulting, said the company will apply preventive and predictive tech platforms through the partnership to reduce the rail network’s service disruptions in support of about 15M commuters each week.
DXC opened a new center of expertise to help MTA execute asset management-related best practices and leverage the skills of New York City’s engineering graduates and interns to support the EAM initiative.
