Charles River Analytics to Release Open-Source Mixed-Reality Training Interface - top government contractors - best government contracting eventCharles River Analytics has developed an open-source interface that employs a hybrid reality approach to military medical training and education.

Virtuoso is based on a multimodal interface to allow natural human interactions within virtual and augmented reality environments and facilitate transfer of knowledge to trainees, the company said Thursday.

The platform works to automatically assess a trainee’s skill proficiency and uses
multiple commercial control and display peripherals.

Charles River collaborated with TMST Consultants, Sensics and the Virtual Reality Medical Center on the interface development project.

Virtuoso plans to release the open-source version in the first quarter of 2019.
