Samsung Electronics America has unveiled a line of computer-aided dispatch applications for wearable devices to help first responders stay connected during emergency missions.
The company said Wednesday it integrated its Galaxy smartwatches with apps such as Northrop Grumman’s CommandPoint, CentralSquare Technologies’ Field Ops, Caliber Public Safety’s PocketCop and Tyler Technologies’ New World ShieldForce.
The dispatch offerings will help emergency responders maintain a communication line, as well as location awareness capability even in the absence of a mobile data terminal or mobile phone.
The apps will leverage the Samsung Knox mobile security platform and Knox Configure service to securely manage multiple devices.
Reg Jones, head of public sector sales and solutions at Samsung Electronics America, said the new devices will help public safety agencies monitor their deployed teams’ health, as well as access critical information and location data on command views of incidents.
