AT&T and the state of California have partnered to create a procurement vehicle for FirstNet public safety broadband network services.
The company said Thursday FirstNet will work to help state and local first responders obtain critical data and communicate when they perform tasks or in the event of an emergency.
Ken McNeely, president of AT&T’s Pacific Region business, said the contract offers network subscribers an option to select and procure services intended to help them access technology offerings.
The telecommunications firm will offer a fleet of 72 deployable network assets, mobile devices and applications and additional support to FirstNet users.
AT&T noted the Fresno County Sheriff-Coroner’s Office and other California-based agencies have subscribed to use the network.
