The U.S. Air Force Life Cycle Management Center is looking to award a sole-source contract to General Atomics‘ aeronautical systems business for the Block 5 production of the MQ-9 Reaper unmanned aircraft system covering fiscal 2019.
The company is the only designer and maker of the MQ-9 and is the sole party to possess the required expertise for the sought production effort, the U.S. Air Force said Wednesday in a FedBizOpps notice.
Firms interested to serve as subcontractors for the production may contact Paula Hodgetts of General Atomics to propose arrangements.
Responses are due on Oct. 18 and must include the proposing firm’s number of employees.
The Air Force employs the MQ-9 Reaper to counter dynamic execution targets and gather intelligence.
