Salesforce has submitted recommendations to the Office of Management and Budget through a public comment on OMB’s draft of an updated federal cloud computing strategy.
Dave Rey, executive vice president of Salesforce’s North American public sector business, told Federal Chief Information Officer Suzette Kent in a written response to the Cloud Smart Strategy proposal that OMB should include customer experience objectives in the draft policy.
He wrote the company recommends that the administration implement a decision-making model for agencies to initially consider software-as-a-service platforms when planning a cloud technology investment,
OMB should also tailor service level agreements and other security approaches to an appropriate cloud service model, according to Rey.
He added the agency should provide vendor viability rating for products and services on the Federal Risk and Authorization Management Program marketplace to inform customers about a provider’s business size and financial guidance before they procure cloud offerings.
