Dave Burg, former global cybersecurity leader at PwC, has been appointed to succeed the retiring Bob Sydow as cybersecurity leader for the Americas region at EY‘s advisory services business effective Oct. 1.
EY said Monday Burg will help develop the firm’s EY cybersecurity consulting programs and offerings intended to help clients manage cyber threats.
At PwC, Burg worked with U.S. government agencies, corporations and law firms to tackle matters related to cybercrime investigations, data analysis and correlation, business transformation and operational initiatives.
His appointment follows the opening of EY’s Dallas, Texas-based cybersecurity center and its acquisition of cyber protection consulting firm Aspect Security.
He has worked as a lecturer at New York University’s Stern School of Business, Georgetown University and Penn State University.
