Cubic has received orders worth more than $55M to supply the U.S. Army with inflatable satellite communication and networking systems for the service branch’s expeditionary operations.

The company said Thursday it will provide GATR antennas, spare parts, training and sustainment support services.

Mike Twyman, president of Cubic’s mission solutions business, said the company’s satcom and networking platforms work to address the Army’s bandwidth, transportability and ease of setup requirements.

The portable GATR system employs links designed to help military customers secure network communications and features a 1.2- or a 2.4-meter tracking antenna.

Cubic received approval earlier this year to begin full-rate production of satellite antenna systems for the Army’s Transportable Tactical Command Communications program.
