Microlab Launches RF Portfolio for In-Building Public Safety Communications

Microlab, a Wireless Telecom Group company, has launched a new product line aimed at providing buildings with wireless networks that streamline communication between the public and first responders during emergency events.

The company said Wednesday that the new radio frequency components are specifically designed and optimized for critical communications as many local governments pass regulations for in-building public safety network coverage.

The new RF systems operate across a frequency range of 80 megahertz to 960 MHz, covering all public safety bands, and are comprised of splitters, couplers and duplexers.

Luke Getto, director of product management at Microlab, said the company has provided network components to commercial wireless carriers for over 30 years.

He added that Microlab is excited to apply their technology to “a new, dedicated set of products that support [ultra high frequency and very high frequency], as well as TETRA, FirstNet, and the UK Emergency Services Network for critical public safety communications.”

Microlab product specialists will present further details on the RF portfolio during the APCO International public safety communications event from Aug. 5 to 8 in Las Vegas, Nev.
