Hexagon US Federal has won a potential $60.9 million contract to supply ruggedized hardware for installation on multiple U.S. Navy ship classes
The company will deliver the commercial hardware systems to support modernization programs at the Navy Surface Warfare Center Philadelphia Division, the Defense Department announced June 12th.
The Navy received two offers for the indefinite-delivery/indefinite-quantity contract, which has a 60-month ordering period, through a competitive procurement on the FedBizOpps website and obligated $1.8 million on the first delivery order.
“The U.S. Navy Smart Ship Program is a leading example of the evolution to modernize U.S. Navy ships leveraging commercial technologies (hardware and software). We are proud to be the Navy’s partner and our team is committed in helping them meet their mission and quest for advanced control system architectures, sensing and maintenance techniques,” Tammer Olibah, chief executive officer of Hexagon US Federal, told ExecutiveBiz Thursday.
“As the Navy continues its modernization, we are proud to be its partner and our team is committed in helping them meet their mission,” Chief Strategy Officer Chris Bellios added.
Huntsville, Ala.-based Hexagon is scheduled to complete work by May 2024.
