The Defense Advanced Research Projects Agency has selected Box to provide a cloud-based technology platform for DARPA personnel to collaborate with each other and external research partners.
Box said Tuesday it will provide a cloud content management platform along with data management, governance and protection expertise in support of the agency’s digital workplace initiatives.
“We are thrilled to support DARPA’s mission, helping to transform the way they manage research and development projects by empowering their workforce with more collaboration between internal and external stakeholders,” said Sonny Hashmi, managing director of Box’s global public sector business.
Hashmi added the company also seeks to help the agency comply with the Defense Department‘s cybersecurity requirements.
Box received an impact level 4 authorization from the Defense Information Systems Agency last year and noted its technology holds Federal Risk and Authorization Management Program certification.
The company will host a forum at Moscone Center in San Francisco on August 29 and 30.
