A Canada-based company has tapped Rockwell Collins to support the enhancement of the weather threat detection of the Canadian air force’s platform for rescue operations.
Rockwell Collins said Thursday it will supply its WXR-2100 MultiScan and MFD-255 and MFD-268 Multi-Function Displays for the Royal Canadian Air Force’s C-130H fleet through Cascade Aerospace.
The multi-scan technology features a radar designed to provide weather threat and situational awareness through ground clutter elimination, geographic weather adjustment and hazard analysis.
The update work will help the RCAF identify coastal boundaries and rugged terrain and alter flight paths to evade violent weather.
