FLIR Systems has released three new detection technologies built for military, government and border patrol applications.
These products include airborne drone and ground target detection variants of the Ranger mid-range panel radar and the Recon V UltraLite thermal monocular, the company said Tuesday.
The R8SS-3D variant of the Ranger radar is designed to detect land and air objects, as well as distinguish drones from birds; while the R8SS variant focuses solely on land detection. Both radars are made to provide 360-degree surveillance, simultaneously identify more than 500 targets and be mounted on vehicles, towers and tripods.
Weighing less than three pounds, the Recon V UltraLite uses Android Tactical Assault Kit network technology to provide situational awareness imaging for warfighters. The monocular can be either handheld or mounted on a fixed platform.
FLIR unveiled these products at the Special Operations Forces Industry Conference 2018 that took place in Tampa, Fla.
