The U.S. Customs and Border Protection has chosen Salesforce to provide cloud computing and analytics platforms to support the agency’s digital modernization effort.
CBP will implement Salesforce’s Analytics, Community Cloud and Service Cloud products to update agency personnel management process, manage activities along U.S. borders and engage citizens, the company said Tuesday.
“There is a huge opportunity for government agencies to modernize so they can meet the expectations of today’s digitally savvy employees and citizens,” said Dave Rey, executive vice president of Salesforce’s public sector business and 2018 Wash100 recipient.
The company’s Analytics dashboards will work to help CBP personnel view recruitment efforts by region and demography, as well as identify recruiting needs and potential candidates.
CBP plans to deploy Community Cloud to help agency employees access onboarding materials and information about payroll and benefits.
Salesforce noted the agency seeks to increase the efficiency of U.S. border operations and collect feedback from citizens with the use of Service Cloud.
