A Comtech Telecommunications subsidiary has received a $19.1 million contract to provide a layer-2 Ethernet bridging platform for installation on U.S. Navy ship, shore, and submarine platforms.
Comtech EF Data will supply and sustain the Advanced Time Division Multiple Access Interface Processor system under the indefinite-delivery/indefinite-quantity contract from the service branch’s Space and Naval Warfare Systems Command, the Defense Department said Friday.
SPAWAR will obligate $328,048 in fiscal 2017 shipbuilding and conversion funds along with fiscal 2018 operations and maintenance funds upon issuance of the first delivery order.
DoD expects contract work to finish by January 2022.
The ATIP system is designed to support geographically dispersed users that connect via the Milstar medium data rate, advanced extremely high-frequency MDR/extended data rate or updated polar XDR links.
