Brett Jones, a former vice president at engineering professional services company WSP, has joined engineering and construction services contractor Parsons as vice president of business development.
Parsons said Thursday Jones will help the company pursue new business opportunities in Southern California and will focus on alternative and traditionally-procured projects in the transportation market in his new position.
Jones’ 28-year civil engineering experience includes highway/roadway planning and design, civil site development, railroad grade separations, airports, transit planning and design, rail stations and high-speed rail projects.
He previously worked on projects with various Southern California agencies such as the Los Angeles County Metropolitan Transportation Authority, Orange County Transportation Authority, San Diego Association of Governments and the Riverside County Transportation Commission, among others.
Jones holds a bachelor’s degree in civil engineering from the California State Polytechnic University.
