Northrop Grumman has received a $15.9 million contract from the U.S. Air Force to provide Large Aircraft Infrared Countermeasures systems to an unnamed foreign military sales customer.
The Defense Department said Thursday the company will perform work under the firm-fixed-price contract in Rolling Meadows, Illinois through April 1, 2024.
LAIRCM is equipped with an ultraviolet missile warning sensor, a laser transmitter assembly, a control interface unit and processors designed to help military users detect and counter incoming IR missiles.
Ohio-based 645th Aeronautical Systems Group is the contracting activity.
