ICF has received a potential five-year, $20.8 million contract to support the Federal Emergency Management Agency‘s education and preparedness programs designed to protect communities near nuclear power plants.
The company said Wednesday it has supported the Radiological Emergency Preparedness program since 2000 through the delivery of policy analysis, program management, training and exercise evaluation services to FEMA and its state, local and industry partners.
“This win represents ICF’s enduring commitment to FEMA’s radiological preparedness program and to building resilient communities by preparing them for response and recovery from potential catastrophic events,” said John Paczkowski, an ICF senior vice president.
Paczkowski added the company will continue to help the agency implement the program that serves as a key element the National Preparedness System.
FEMA created the REP Program as part of efforts to help state and local organizations protect the public health and safety of communities located in close proximity to commercial nuclear power plants.
ICF also provided incident management training development, program management, regional disaster response planning, public health preparedness and technical assistance services to help FEMA and its partners implement national preparedness and community resilience programs.
