Ralph Acaba, formerly vice president of integrated air and missile defense at Raytheon‘s integrated defense systems business, has been appointed VP for program management excellence and elected as a company officer.
Raytheon said Friday the 31-year company veteran will also succeed Edward Miyashiro, who will retire as evaluation team VP after 43 years of service at the Waltham, Massachusetts-based defense contractor.
Thomas Kennedy, chairman and CEO of Raytheon, said that Acaba will help continue to expand Miyashiro’s work as the company looks to develop best practices to support customers.
Acaba joined the company in 1986 and has held roles of increasing responsibility such as director of Patriot systems business and maneuver protection programs as well as manager of the Joint Land Attack Cruise Missile Defense Elevated Netted Sensor program.
He has managed Raytheon’s integrated air and missile defense portfolio since 2013 that includes the global Patriot Air and Missile Defense System, National Advanced Surface-to-Air Missile System and Hawk Air Defense System.
