The Defense Information Technology Contracting Organization has awarded UltiSat an $8.4 million task order to facilitate Ku-band commercial satellite communications coverage for the Air Combat Command’s unmanned aerial vehicle operations.
UltiSat said Wednesday it will provide a comsatcom transponded capacity to Global Hawk-based missions of ACC throughout Europe and surrounding waters.
Amy Gwinn, senior vice president of UltiSat’s government solutions unit, said the task order extends the company’s role in the Global Hawk UAV program as a satellite services provider.
Gwinn added the effort aligns with UltiSat’s portfolio of airborne intelligence, surveillance and reconnaissance service offerings.
The company received the order through the General Services Administration‘s Future COMSATCOM Services Acquisition Schedule 70 contract vehicle.
