A business unit of BAE Systems has won a potential $12.8 million contract to help the U.S. Air Force develop a knowledge-based space testbed architecture.
The Defense Department said Monday that BAE’s information and electronic systems integration business will create a testbed for the military branch to evaluate space enterprise command-and-control tools and technologies.
DoD noted that the Air Force Research Laboratory will obligate $2.5 million in fiscal 2016 and 2017 research, development, test and evaluation funds at the time of award.
Work will occur in California, Massachusetts and Virginia through Jan. 7, 2021.
BAE Systems Information and ESI designs, develops and manufactures electronic systems and subsystems for commercial and military applications such as air structure assembly and aircraft and avionics modernization, flight testing, certification and operations.
