Flex Logix has inked an agreement with the Defense Advanced Research Projects Agency to develop the EFLX embedded field-programmable gate array technology for use by agencies and companies to design integrated circuits for the U.S. government.
The company said Monday it will offer EFLX arrays in the TSMC 16FFC process node to help users reconfigure register-transfer levels during the digital circuit design phase.
Flex Logix offers EFLX-2.5K Logic IP core and EFLX-2.5K DSP IP core systems that support nearly 50 various-sized arrays.
“Chip development costs and lead times keep increasing and the ability to reconfigure RTL at any time can eliminate expensive chip spins, enable one chip to address many customers and applications, and extend the life of chips and systems,” said Geoff Tate, Flex Logix CEO and co-founder.
The EFLX platform will work to help chip designers boost the performance as well as decrease the size and weight of systems with the creation and customization of a single chip for various applications.
