DynCorp International has landed a $23 million task order with the U.S. Air Force to maintain the 357th Aircraft Maintenance Unit’s A-10 Thunderbolt aircraft.
The company said Wednesday it will perform contract work at Davis-Monthan Air Force Base in Tucson, Arizona through March 2018 under the Davis-Monthan Contract Field Team task order.
Mark Mirelez, DI’s aviation engineering, logistics and sustainment lead, said the company will maintain the A-10 fighters as active-duty aircraft maintainers transition to the F-35 fleet.
Mirelez added that DynCorp aims to help “ensure the Air Force aircrews remain ready for the toughest enemies while freeing up crucial maintainers for the new F-35s.”
