The Naval Research Laboratory plans to seek industry proposals for research and development of dual microwave and millimeter wave antennas with a capacity to transmit radio frequency in the 4 gigahertz to 40 gigahertz range.
The R&D effort seeks to design, test, install and deliver 10 preliminary antennas as well as multiple pairs of forward and aft antennas, the U.S. Navy said in a presolicitation notice posted Tuesday on FedBizOpps.
The government looks to award a single cost-plus-fixed-fee contract based on the “best value” method through a tradeoff source selection process, the notice states.
The Navy expects to publish a formal solicitation notice by Oct. 24 and offerors currently registered in the System for Award Management may submit responses over a 30-day period that begins once the notice is released.
