Kratos Defense and Security Solutions has received a $6.2 million contract modification from U.S. Strategic Command to provide radio frequency services for all Defense Department-leased Ku and C-band commercial bandwidth.
San Diego-based Kratos said Monday Stratcom’s Joint Functional Component Command for Space awarded the modification that expands RF monitoring, interference detection and geolocation services to European Command, Northern Command, Africa Command and Southern Command.
Kratos currently provides RF services for the Central Command and Pacific Command‘s areas of responsibility.
The company will perform event and trend analysis work on space situational Awareness information for contracted DoD-leased commercial bandwidth.
The company plans to establish seven new worldwide monitoring sites, host more than 60 antennas and provide visibility to approximately 50 satellites, 100 beams and 200 transponders to provide expanded worldwide coverage for DoD.
Kratos will also add X-band geolocation services to aid geolocation tasking work on commercial and military X-band satellites in certain areas across the world.
The services are based on Kratos’ Monics carrier monitoring product and satID geolocation system.
