The U.S. Navy has awarded Superior Electric a five-year, $39.4 million indefinite-delivery/indefinite-quantity contract to supply automatic voltage regulators for use aboard the military branch’s ships.
The regulators will work to automatically regulate the alternate and direct current voltages that are intended for naval shipboard application, the Defense Department said Wednesday.
DoD added that the company will perform contract work in Plainville, Connecticut through August 2021.
The Naval Surface Warfare Center obligated $533,669 from the Navy’s fiscal 2016 operations and maintenance funds at the time of the award.
The contract was posted on the Federal Business Opportunities website, which garnered one bid.
Superior Electric is a voltage and power control and conditioning equipment manufacturer that works to provide customers with custom designed variable power, voltage regulation, conditioned power, and surge protection products.
