Quanergy to Integrate Raytheon BBN’s Human Tracker Software With LiDAR Sensors; Louay Eldada Comments

Quanergy Systems has acquired a software platform from a Raytheon subsidiary for integration with the former’s light detection and ranging sensor systems.

Quanergy CEO Louay Eldada said in a statement released Monday the acquisition of the OTUS People Tracker software from Raytheon BBN Technologies is part of Quanergy’s “long-term roadmap for LiDAR integration into larger transportation and automation platforms.”

Quanergy said it will incorporate Raytheon BBN’s OTUS with its three-dimensional LiDAR-based platform, Q-Guard, designed for use in intrusion detection and perimeter fencing operations.

OTUS works to detect and track individuals in crowded environments at a range of more than 100 meters through the use of human perception algorithms.

The software also uses persistent tracking and split algorithms to support human identification, object clustering and background extraction operations.

Quanergy said it will showcase its Q-Guard platform at the four-day ASIS 2016 trade show that will kick off on Sept. 12 in Orlando, Florida.
