The National Geospatial-Intelligence Agency and the U.S. Geological Survey have begun to solicit applications from universities and schools that are interested to serve as partners of a geospatial sciences program.
NGA formed the Centers of Academic Excellence in Geospatial Sciences program with USGS in an effort to establish partnerships with the U.S. academic community in order to address the country’s geospatial science requirements, NGA said Tuesday.
Lenora Peters Gant, senior executive for academic outreach and science, technology, engineering and math initiatives at NGA, said the program seeks to form relationships with U.S. universities as well as “shape the geospatial intelligence workforce of the future.â€
NGA and USGS will accept applications for the CAE in Geospatial Sciences program through Feb. 15, 2017.
