The Naval Facilities Engineering Command has awarded A&D General Contracting a $9.6 million task order to build a combat service support facility for the U.S. Marine Corps Special Operations Command.
The facility will be built in Camp Pendleton, California and will have operational, maintenance and administrative offices for the 1st Marine Raider Support Battalion’s West Coast-based combat service support organization units, NAVFAC said Friday.
“This major vertical construction project is an initial example of our resurgence in developing our in-house design technical proficiency,” said Cmdr. Amanda Barber, assistant operations officer of NAVFAC-Southwest.
Katherine Carretti, MARSOC project engineer, noted the project is designed to allow co-location of engineers and the logistics company that supports units stationed inside the MARSOC compound.
