BAE Systems has opened a new cybersecurity and threat intelligence center in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia, in an effort to drive awareness and adoption of cybersecurity and business defense within the country.
The Malaysian Nerve Center will work to provide cybersecurity, anti-financial crime and threat intelligence services through the use of technologies such as video presentation software and interactive touchscreen, the company said Thursday.
Rishesingar Ramasamy, head of BAE Systems’ Malaysian Engineering Center, said the Malaysian Nerve Center will offer virtual environment simulations to demonstrate real-time cyber threat detection as well as intelligence-led services to deliver information systems protection.
“It is only by improving awareness of the existing threats, among individuals and in organizations, that we can help defend against cyber crime, enable companies to comply with regulation and reduce the evolving risk that an increasingly connected world brings,” he added.
Elaine Baker, global head of engineering at BAE Systems’ applied intelligence unit, said the launch of the new center supports the company’s efforts to expand within Malaysia and its goal of using technology to educate and inform the public on measures to protect the “connected world.”
