Milrem and Leica Geosystems have launched an unmanned ground vehicle offering the companies jointly developed for off-road surveying, monitoring and security operations.
The Pegasus:Multiscope vehicle combines Milrem’s Multiscope UGV platform and Leica Geosystems’ Pegasus:Two mobile mapping sensor technology, Milrem said Monday.
The UGV is built to help industry customers automate processes in order to avoid physical risks in surveying complex terrains, nuclear power stations or intense conflict zones according to Milrem.
Stuart Woods, vice president of Leica Geosystems’ geospatial solutions division, said Pegasus:Multiscope is intended to help carry out mobile mapping “in places unreachable by traditional vehicles.”
Milrem and Leica Geosystems developed the vehicle to also help automate border patrol operations with the system’s pre-programmed route and disturbance detection features.
The companies exhibited Pegasus:Multiscope during the HxGN Live event on Monday.
