Leidos has awarded $10,000 in cash prizes to the winners of an essay writing contest that focused on emerging and disruptive technologies.
Sean Cate and Jesse Sloman took first place in the competition, U.S. Navy Commander Timothy McGeehan and retired Commander Douglas Wahl won second place and Navy Lt. (junior grade) Michael Haydell took third place, Leidos said Monday.
The company hosted the contest with the U.S. Naval Institute.
Leidos Executive Vice President Mike Leiter, Senior VP Mike Chagnon and Navy Strategic Account Executive Nevin Carr handed the cash awards and plaques to the winners at a ceremony held during the Sea Air Space Symposium near Washington.
The winning essay is featured in the May edition of the U.S. Naval Institute Proceedings magazine.
