Brocade and Harris have formed a partnership that will work to help customers adopt cybersecurity strategies in efforts to protect assets.
Brocade said Tuesday the team will develop new services that integrate Harris’ cybersecurity technologies and Brocade’s software-defined networking products in support of customers in the government, financial services, healthcare, energy, oil and gas, retail and service sectors.
“Strengthening the cybersecurity of federal and financial networks is one of the most important challenges facing our nation,” said Ken Cheng, chief technology officer at Brocade.
He added the company will work with Harris to create strategies that feature new Internet Protofol architectures and provide secure and automated networks for federal agencies and financial institutions.
An IDC Government Insights report cited by Brocade estimates federal information technology spending for national security and police or emergency services will total $5.7 billion in 2020, Brocade noted.
Brocade also said 91 percent of U.S. companies have been hit by a cyber threat and hackers spend nearly 205 days inside compromised systems before they are detected.
