A Comtech Telecommunications subsidiary has been awarded an estimated $1.5 million contract with a prime contractor to produce troposcatter equipment for an Asia-Pacific military customer’s deployable communications network.
Comtech Systems will deliver Comtech MTTS transit case troposcatter terminals with 500-watt amplifiers and a 20 megabit-per-second modem for use in the network testing and integration efforts of the foreign military customer, Comtech said Tuesday.
The company booked the contract in the third quarter of its fiscal year 2016.
Stanton Sloane, president and CEO of Comtech Telecommunications, said the contract indicates that the troposcatter is a key element of modern deployable military communications toolkits.
Comtech Systems works to design, integrate and produce communication systems such as troposcatter, line-of-sight microwave and satellite systems.
