The U.S. Air Force has asked industry to submit white papers for a five-year, $49 million program that aims to develop anti-tamper platforms designed to protect weapon systems from technology theft, reverse engineering and other threats, Military & Aerospace Electronics reported Thursday.
John Keller writes the service branch issued the broad agency announcement in support of the Air Force Life Cycle Management Center’s Anti-Tamper Program.
The military branch plans to award contracts that could be worth $500,000 to $2 million each.
The program aims to mature platforms in such areas as anti-tamper enabling and sensor systems as well as in secure commercial-off-the-shelf processors and COTS architectures under the program, according to the report.
Responses to the BAA are due June 30, Keller reports.
