Huntington Ingalls Industries will make a series of leadership moves within its Ingalls Shipbuilding division following the planned retirement of Richard Schenk from his role as vice president of program management.
HII said Friday Kari Wilkinson will assume the role of Ingalls’ VP for program management on May 23 as the successor to Schenk, who will retire on July 1 after 33 years in the company.
“Richard has made significant contributions to our past, current and future business objectives, and we owe him our gratitude and thanks,†said Ingalls Shipbuilding President Brian Cuccias.
Wilkinson will report directly to Cuccias and oversee program execution, financial performance and solicitations in support of Ingalls’ portfolio of ships, HII said.
She is the current ship program manager for the John P. Murtha amphibious transport dock, the company noted.
HII also announced the appointment of Mike Duthu as vice president for business development.
The company said Duthu will head Ingalls’ capture team and business development activities, including bids and proposals to customers such as the U.S. Navy and U.S. Coast Guard.
HII noted Wilkinson and Duthu have worked at Ingalls for 20 and 25 years, respectively.
