Lockheed Martin and the U.S. Army have conducted a flight test for the PAC-3 Missile Segment Enhancement missile at the White Sands Missile Range in New Mexico.
The missile detected and intercepted a tactical ballistic missile target during the test, Lockheed Martin said Thursday.
PAC-3 MSE features updates to its dual-pulse solid rocket motor, control fins and support system and works to extend PAC-3’s reach.
PAC-3 uses hit-to-kill technology to counter cruise missiles and aircraft threats.
