research-and-development-RDThe U.S. Navy has issued a solicitation for research and development programs that will work to support the mission of the combating terrorism technical support office.

A broad agency announcement published Feb. 2 on FedBizOpps indicated that CTTSO is interested in R&D projects that deal with chemical, biological, radiological, nuclear and explosives, advanced analytic capabilities and physical security.

CTTSO works to identify and build new platforms designed to fight terrorism and deploy such platforms to agencies under the Defense Department and interagency partners through R&D work and support to military operations.

Other mission areas cited in the BAA include investigative and forensic science, personnel protection, surveillance and collections support, training technology development, tactical operations support, evolving threats and irregular warfare and countermeasures against improvised devices and explosives.

The Navy will accept responses through March 4, according to the sources sought notice.
