The Hollywood Presbyterian Medical Center cooperates with the FBI and the Los Angeles Police Department to identify the hackers responsible for a cyber attack that disrupted the hospital’s access to electronic health records, Defense One reported Wednesday.
Kaveh Waddell writes the hospital’s medical personnel are not able to access data such as the treatment history of patients and some diagnostic test results as a result of the hack.
The hospital indicated the attack has not compromised patient care, Waddell reports.
Fox 11Â quoted Eric Robi, a computer forensics professional, as saying Hollywood Presbyterian Medical Center hackers have demanded more than $3 million in bitcoins as ransom.
